Absolutely Brilliant Services

Just wanted to give you a bit of feedback on the trek.

The entire team was absolutely brilliant and provided assistance beyond anything I and the rest of the guys could have expected. From the first day in Kathmandu, Sital you were invaluable in helping us get organised and adjusting the itinerary to our ideas. On the occasion when we got injured or sick the team including the two porters helped us through often returning after leaving the bags at the tea house to provide support for the remainder of the day. The trip was the success it became because of the team we were provided and I would happily trek with them again or recommend them to any one else.

In fact the trip has been so good that my brother, cousin and myself are pretty much guaranteed to be back in a 12-18 months for another trek maybe to Island or Mera Peak. We will need to spend a fair bit of time in the gym exercising to make sure we are fit enough but it is something we would definitely look to do. Hopefully a trip to Nepal will become an annual thing for us.

Entrusting My Future – Helen Konstantinidi

Thank you, thank you, thank you ‘Tramping Himalaya’! Following an altitude sickness problem on a previous trip 5 years ago, with a large group with a different company, it was my ultimate dream to finally reach Everest Base Camp. ‘Tramping Himalaya’ put together a package for me that allowed proper acclimatisation, at my pace, only moving on to higher altitude when I was ready to. I can’t praise the commitment or care of my guide enough, putting my safety and enjoyment of the trip above everything.

Excellent local knowledge and good humour from your staff, added to the pleasure of what is a tough physical challenge. I’m not ashamed to say I wept tears of joy when I finally reached Everest Base Camp! Thank you again Tramping Himalaya, I’ll certainly be entrusting my future Tramping Himalaya adventures to your company!

Professional service with a personal touch – FREEMAN Alexander

Good day Tramping Himalaya,

My name is Alexander Freeman. The review which I wish to make concerns my trip between the dates of 27th August until the 18th September.

When I look to travel, my number one criteria with the booking agent is ‘Trust’. Dawa is a person who I can trust. His experience is second to none, which allows me as a tourist to feel completely relaxed in his hands.

Dawa was pro-active in the organising my trip and provided detailed answers to any prospective questions I had. Dawa is the man for any trip in the Sagarmartha National Park.

My trekking guide Hom was very professional and a warm person. Any problems I had or nuances on which I was concerned, Hom was knowledgeable and acted promptly to help me, for example organising Hot Showers in Pangboche. His english is fluent and sounds like that of a local Englishman! After a well organised first few weeks, I met Hemanta and Lhakpa. Both are very, very good at what they do. They supported me with my ropes, crampons and verbal support. They both put me first, and made sure always that my health was looked after. All lodges chosen for me are well-run, comfortable and the food is tasty. Everyday my Climibing Guide, Hom, would ask ‘What time would you like to leave?’, these questions allowed me to feel as though this was a private tour, and was fixed on my preferences.

The climbing equipment which I hired was more than adequate for my needs, this was all organised for me in advance by Dawa. It all ran smoothly, in fact all I did was hike!

Tramping Himalaya offers a professional hiking service with a personal touch. The team consists of knowledgeable members, whose experience ensures a successful trip to any part of the Sagarmartha National Park.

I am lucky to know Dawa, Hemanta, Lhakpa and Hom (to whom I also wish his mother has made a swift recovery). In all the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu, it is wonderful meeting your trek co-ordinator to discuss your up and coming trip.

In 2 years, I will be returning to hopefully summit Baruntse and increase my portfolio in that region, and I will be using Tramping Himalaya to organise this trip. If you are looking to travel to Everest Base Camp, hike through the 3 passes or Summit high altitude peaks, Tramping Himalaya are the company for you.

With warm regards,
FREEMAN Alexander

Memories with THA that will last for lifetime – Treena Antkow

I recently went on the Everest Base Camp trek in April 2016 and it was such a life changing experience for me. Prior to the trip I really did not know what to expect upon arrival and whether or not this trip would be feasible for me. When I met my guide Dawa from Tramping Himalaya Adventures  in Kathmandu he immediately put any hesitations and anxiety that I had to rest. Dawa treated our group with such respect and shared many stories about his life in Nepal including the cultures and traditions. Dawa constantly monitored everyone in our group to ensure we were all doing good with the altitude and he made sure we all made it to the next stop along this incredible adventure. I did suffer somewhat from the altitude but Dawa made sure I made it to base camp and even carried my pack back from base camp to the tea house as he saw that I was getting exhausted and was willing to assist. The trek had some difficult segments but did not last for too long but the views were the most amazing I have ever seen. Tea houses were basic accommodations, but most offered warm showers for a small fee, the one thing I wished I would have brought was more reading material or even cards to pass the time while resting. Overall this was one of the most incredible journeys that I have been on and I recommend this trek to anyone that wants to challenge themselves while immersing in beautiful landscapes and culture.

If you are looking for an experienced guide I highly recommend Dawa .  He was excellent and made this trek much more enjoyable from teaching me how to maintain a consistent pace in the altitude to sharing stories about his life and family.

He showed genuine concern for each and everyone in the group and did not make you feel like you had to rush to the next point on the trail. This was a journey that I was planning to complete prior to my 40th birthday and I am so glad that I was able to accomplish this and take away memories that will last a lifetime.

Great Trek With Great Peoples – Warren Kozak

I traveled to Nepal for the second time within 5 years on May 6th 2016. After my last trekking expedition, I have kept in contact with a Himalayan guide and friend Dawa .  He has always kept me updated, even during the 2015 earthquake which killed over 8,000 people.  After this event, tourism had been low, and tourism is a primary source of income for the Sherpas, so I had a very good excuse for making my second trip.  The first time I made the trip, Dawa guided me to Everest Base Camp. To make things a little more challenging, I decided to do the Everest Base Camp trek followed by a summit attempt on Island Peak, 6189m above sea level.

Dawa, with Tramping Himalaya Adventures, arranged absolutely everything such as airport pickup, necessary permits, hotels in Kathmandu, places to stay during the trekking, flight into and out of Lukla, and my guides of whom are now close friends Sital Shrestha and climbing guide Hemanta Shrestha.  I simply gave Dawa my travel dates, and he built an itinerary to accommodate. The guides are patient, local to the area and therefore resourceful in the case of emergencies, and put safety as a priority. Because this trek is at high altitude, the guides are always monitoring you for potential altitude sickness.  As Dawa always says, “input and output are very important”, in other words make sure to eat and drink and go to the bathroom.

For a trek of this magnitude, the price was very good. I highly recommend Tramping Himalaya Adventures, I definitely will use them again for my next Himalayan trek.

Thanks Dawa, Hemanta, and Sital for the adventure!!!!
